Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s existing GST\/QST New Housing Rebate gives new-home buyers back some of the sales tax they paid, but it maxes out at $9,975 and only applies to homes priced under $300,000 \u2014 it phases out completely at $300,000 and pays $0 above that. Given today&#8217;s prices, most homes eligible for AHQ (which caps out between $315,000 and $700,000 depending on unit type) wouldn&#8217;t qualify for that existing rebate at all.
